Located on the edge of Ballard County and McCracken County, Kevil, KY is a natural fit for families looking to live amongst nature with all the needed amenities within a very short distance. Kevil is home to the P & L Railway and has four-lane Highway access leading to The City of Kevil and The West Kentucky Industrial Park, making us a logical choice for commuting families and logistics-based businesses alike. Our expanding city park is located in the center of town with many quaint family-friendly neighborhoods surrounding.
Kevil, KY is also known for its agricultural prowess, including a 534-acre historic farm, known as the Eagle Rest Plantation, donated to Murray State University which is now serving as a research and demonstration hub for cover crop and industrial hemp.
The farm was originally settled around 1845 and was recognized by National Cattleman’s Beef Association as one of the oldest cattle ranches in the United States under continuous family ownership.
Murray State Agricultural Dean Tony Brannon told WKMS at the time of the donation, the gift is “institution-changing” and says it will continue to advance the school as a national leader in agricultural education and research.
Whether you are looking for a fabulous place to raise a family, short commute-times to major employers, country living, or booming business and innovative agricultural opportunities- Kevil is at the heart of it all! Cultivating Imagination!
